Practical preparation
Plan your move from B2B sales into medical device sales
Translate verified commercial evidence while identifying the learning your target role requires.
B2B sales experience gives you evidence to work with, but the translation needs to be specific. The Career Field Guide helps you choose a target role, organize your results and build an application sequence without claiming experience you have not gained.
Start with the overlap
For each requirement in a target job description, find an example you can explain. Prospecting might connect to a documented outbound process. Account development might connect to retained or expanded business. Collaboration might connect to a complex implementation.
Then write the boundary. Selling software to a hospital does not by itself establish clinical product experience. A long B2B sales cycle may be relevant, but it does not prove knowledge of a particular device category.
A fictional translation
Maya sold a business service and achieved $1.2 million against a $1 million quota. “120% of annual quota” is defensible if the records support it. “Experienced medical device seller” is not, if she has not sold devices.
Her application can pair the commercial result with a concrete learning plan: research the role's responsibilities, study approved public information and prepare questions about onboarding. The career-change explanation should connect what she has done with what she still needs to learn.
Choose the next action
Compare two actual roles before rewriting your entire resume. List responsibilities, minimum qualifications, location or travel requirements and unanswered questions. If your experience fits only one, focus the application there. An associate title is not automatically the right or wrong choice for every experienced seller.
The free B2B transition guide gives you a starting exercise. The book develops the process through a role brief, evidence inventory, outreach notes, offer questions and a six-week plan.
Scope and sample
This is a self-directed application guide with original fictional cases and editable companions. It does not introduce you to recruiters or guarantee eligibility for a role. Preview the first chapters. If you want feedback on your own draft later, the B2B resume-review page explains the separate service scope.
